Jerome Hoeksema, MD

Dr. Hoeksema is an attending urologist at Rush University Medical Center. He is the director of Urologic Education in the Department of Urology and an assistant professor.

He graduated from the University of Michigan with a B.S. in Cellular Biology, and received his M.D. from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, where he graduated with honors in surgery. He completed his Residency in Urology at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center in 1979, became board certified, and chose to stay on in an academic position as well as establish a private practice in urology.

Although Dr. Hoeksema practices general urology, he specializes in a variety of areas which include: urologic oncology; benign and malignant disorders of the prostate, bladder, and kidneys; stone disease; incontinence; female urology; microsurgery; and advanced endoscopic procedures.

In addition to a busy private practice, he serves on multiple committees at the Medical Center, is an active volunteer in the American Cancer Society, and has served as past President of the Chicago Urologic Society. He has chaired the Research Advisory Committee, the Prostate Cancer Task Force, the Early Detection Committee, and the Public Affairs Committee for the Illinois Division of the American Cancer Society. He is currently the President of the Board of the Illinois Division of the American Cancer Society, the treasurer of the medical staff at Rush, and the Vice President of the Illinois State Urologic Society.

He has been named as a "Best Doctor" in Chicago Magazine, and has been repeatedly listed in Connolly and Connolly's "Best Doctors in the Midwest."

Laurence A. Levine, MD
Laurence A. Levine, MD

Dr. Levine is Professor in the Department of Urology at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois, and Director of the Male Sexual Function and Fertility Program.

He graduated from the University of Colorado Medical School in Denver. He completed an internship and junior residency in general surgery at Tufts-New England Medical Center, a chief residency at the American Hospital of Paris in France, and a residency in urology, Harvard Program, at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts.

Dr. Levine specializes in a variety of areas which include: buccal mucosa grafts to repair recalcitrant urethral strictures; pericardial graft repair for Peyronie's disease; and the use of sildenafil citrate in erectile dysfunction (ED). Dr. Levine has made a substantial contribution to the medical press. Recent articles have focused on managing ED in the primary care setting, patient satisfaction following penile prosthesis placement, and microsurgical denervation of the spermatic cord for the treatment of chronic orchialgia.

He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Diplomate of the American Board of Urology. Dr. Levine also served as a member of the AUA Guidelines Panel for the treatment of ED and on the Peyronie's Disease Committee at the World Health Organization First Consultation on Erectile Dysfunction in Paris in 1999. He currently serves on the Executive Advisory Board of the National Foundation for Sexual Health Medicine and is President of the Chicago Urologic Society.
